Conspicuous Christianity

Many of our purchasing decisions are at least in part influenced by our consideration of how we think they're going to make other people perceive us. I'm talking about this practice of trying to appear more godly not out of like devotion to Christ or love of others, but purely for the sake of winning the approval of other people. You try to do godly things so you can look godly so you'll be respected. And I think this is even worse nowadays with social media.
