The Importance of a Strong Magnetic Field in Recording Information
If the medium has a co-orcivity factor that's very high, that means you have to use stronger magnetic fields to affect it. Polson had to experiment with various factors to make certain he could record anything at all. This is also true for other methods of magnetic storage, including cassette tapes, VHS tapes, floppy disks and some hard drives.
