The Soakop Malayan Emergency
The Soakop Malayan emergency ended up being a 12-year war that the British fought against local, anti-colonial guerilla fighters. Most of the people fighting for it in this conflict were ethnically Chinese Malayans who were communists. Britain's overriding sense that imperialism is correct means that anti-imperial activism is given very short shift and not taken seriously at all.
