"I was fibergassed at how long we spent on punishment when it seems to be his most important conclusion had to do with discipline," says Foucault. He has really three stages right or three ways of organizing punishment, monarchy or law and reforming jurists in the prison. And then there's from there that we have the transition into this new form of discipline saying why he does that and why it's necessary.
