White Officers' Attitudes Changed With Integration

After the US Army integrated many divisions at the end of World War II, white officers' attitudes completely changed. Their disrespect was replaced with respect and admiration because they were fighting alongside their equals. This survey that found that attitudes had changed so much was hidden for a long time. Congress was worried that it would cause the NAACP to push for more integration.
