During the Victorian era, it was popular for British people to take a sponge bath instead of a full bath. In the 19th century, some British people used to walk out of their house and take a bath in a nearby river. Now these days, I'm always a little bit nervous about going anywhere near the river because there's been so much talk about the waste and the sewage that different companies are pumping into the rivers. So I wouldn't recommend bathing in the River Thames. You might get sick. These days, my experience of bathing is like I tend to get about 60 seconds of a hot bath before my children want to jump in too. But yeah, we love to add things
