Job was an exceptional kind of guy, not just in his unparalleled godliness and he was a man of incredible piety. But i don't think that any more. Man is born to trouble like sparks fly upward. If you live long enough, you will encounter suffering. And it may not be on the scale of job's suffering. It might be worse. In fact, we are fallen creatures. We are sinful creatures. The great english poet john dunn calls days like this job's sick day. A day that takes your breath away and re directs your entire life and makes you shake with terror. Because life in a fallen world will be twisted and broken by grief.
