The Illusion of Pain

Do you ever fall into the semi delusional state of marveling that everyone else doesn't also have a chronic pain condition? I think there's a kind of illusion in pain of how great your life would be or just how much you would be able to appreciate its absence. Every time I have a cold, I have the same, a mini version of the same thing where I think having a cold is a huge pain. But I don't feel great when I don't have a cold. It's like trying to turn on the lights to see the dark but as soon as I'm not, the pain is not disrupting my relationship to experience. The absence of it just means the experience is gone
