In 1964, the Supreme Court also said Henry Miller's actually dirty and arousing Tropic of Cancer was not legally obscene. Judge Woolsey ruled that Ulysses is a rather strong draft to ask some sensitive though normal persons to take. But whilst in many places, the effect of Ulysses on the reader undoubtedly is somewhat emetic. Nowhere does it tend to be an aphrodisiac. So my question to you Kurt is who is a denser writer, Judge Woolsey or James Joyce?
