Avocenna's Argument for God's Existence

If God's existence and character are all defined by necessity, God doesn't choose to do anything. Avicenna thinks that it follows from that you need to come to an understanding of how things like generosity could be compatible with necessity. He is unique in that he's the only philosopher from the Muslim world who's both very influential in the Christian West and in the Muslim worlds.
