Is There a Substituteary Atonement in the Gospels?

Gerard: I would challenge people to go to the gospels and read through them and find where it says that God sacrifices Jesus. But if you do your life it's not big on affirming biblical Christianity all the time. You'd have to take a framework that you already have like no substitutionary atonement or something. Read it back into the gospels to even come up with that. And so this is why Gerard is so compelling for so many people because it's a non sacrificial reading of the gospels. No they're telling the story to show us what we in societies do by showing what society did to Jesus.
