O speako is a book about the strange, unannounced ways strangers can lodge inside of us. The project began when o speako asked travel writer pico ir to come and speak to her students at yale. i was struck by the fact that he'd never written about an icelantic stranger that he had met while reporting for time magazine 20 years earlier. This is such a common experience that we meet people as we move through the world; they seez control of our itinerary. We rarely honor them.
