The History of the Chainsaw
The first commercially successful chainsaw of this form we would recognize today is the wolf. This was a machine produced by a firm founded in 1920 by an American engineer named Charles Wolf. The company would go on to develop many subsequent variations. They eventually had a compressed air driven model. It's just serendipity that they have these great names, because this wasn't like a brand name somebody came up with, it was actually a dude's name.
