CRISPR-Cas9: A Breakthrough in Genetic Engineering
CRISPR-Cas9 is a technique that allows scientists to target and cut DNA sequences within a cell's genome. The same technology could theoretically be used to create gataca-like designer babies. But in 2018, a study published in the journal Nature Biotechnology reported that the use of CRISPR- Cas9 led to unexpected mutations in other parts of the genome.
