How to Look for Disruptive Patterns in Any Industry

There are three things that you really scan for in the due diligence to try and understand the disruptive power of technology. First is the cost curve. Is it actually going to be more cost effective than the traditional solution? Secondly, it's the customer experience. Does this make my life easier? Is it greener? Does it bring me value as a customer beyond cost? And third is what's getting in the way of this just taking over the market and when might that be eliminated so it can just accelerate and really be on trend?
