The Iraqis Wanted Everything They Could Have Done for the United States
The Iraqis were agreeing to every single thing we wanted, the United States wanted. For example, Iraq offered to give us preferential contracts in rebuilding the oil fields. They offered to purchase 1 million American manufactured automobiles every year for 10 years. In addition to that, and here's where it becomes very important to 9-11, the Iraqis had been our best source on anti-terrorism.
