Noor's Story of the First World War
Noor's father was Indian, which made her a protected person under the rules of the Empire. She joined the Women's Auxiliary Air Force in 1940 and delivered intelligence to British pilots. "We felt useless, but I wasn't a British citizen, so the military kept on turning me away," she says.
