The Three Mile Island Nuclear Power Plant in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania - The Accident

An accident in the water cooling system at the Three Mile Island nuclear power plant forced the company to call a general emergency and shut down. By around 11 a.m., there was a very volatile situation going on in the building that encloses the reactor. I believe this is how it happened. We didn't know there was confusion in the plant about what was happening and how to control it. Over the next couple of hours, the NRC was on the scene.
