The Impact of Indigenous Peoples in Europe on Language

Language is so much influenced by Indigenous languages, and I think people just don't realize it. The word canoe is from Caribou Arawakan Caribbean language. Another word that is also a technology is hammocks. That's from Taino, and the introduction of hammocks absolutely revolutionizes shipboard life from the late 16th century. Tobacco is not a popular product nowadays, by and large, in many parts of the world, but it is an incredibly pervasive one. We have avocados and tomatoes, chilies, chocolate, not just the stuff, but the words are from those languages.
