The Supreme Court Is Trying to Stop the Voting Rights Act Against Black Voters
There are two lawsuits over redistricting that the Supreme Court is taking up this term. The first is from Alabama, and it's about section two of the Voting Rights Act. And drawing up a voting map that favors Republicans can look like racial gerrymandering since 90% of black voters cast ballots for Democrats. These attempts to weaken the power of black voters are what the VRA was designed to stop.
