The French Conscription Study
In the late seventies, men in france were still required to do several years of conscriptionof of compulsory military service. But getting rid of conscription and free these guys to go to school did not improve their economic fortunes at all. Not only did the unemployment rate not get lower, over the average income for this group get higher,. The number of people graduating from college barely changed. And you can see like, you know, i mean, this could become a powerful foiting block of varied, angry and disaffected people who have been left behind by the system.
