The Lord Challenges the People's Perspective Through His Prophet
The temple was destroyed in five 87, five 86 b c. Some of them might have reasoned that there were still a few years to go. The lord wants his people to consider how their neglect of his house has served them. By failing to give the lord their best they would not be blessed.
