What Does an Insight Mean to You?

A huge part of storytelling is garnering insights from the data. What does an insight mean to you? I know like we hear the word insight a lot in research, but what does that actually mean in your opinion? We would sometimes put either a digital whiteboard or a physical whiteboard up during research and say, we wouldn't actually put insights on that because it can be intimidating.
