The Russia of the Balkans
Russia has so little at stake in the Balkans in economic terms. They were afraid of an Ottoman collapse too, which might lead to another power controlling Constantinople and the straits. Russia was also afraid of German economic penetration into Anatolia. A large part of their approach to the Balkans wasn't economic, it wasn't military,. It's heavily based on this pan-slavism.
