The Power of Values in Corporate Strategy
I think what you're seeing now is a greater emphasis on businesses that treat their employees less like line items to be minimized on an income statement. I should frame all this by saying that things can be true about corporate strategy today that were not true 20 or 30 years ago. One of the, I don't know if you call it a risk or the inevitability of bringing more values into business is that you're going to bring in more conflict. But here's the important thing. You need to acquire, retain, motivate, talent to have a consumer basically values what you're doing.
