Every time you pray, i'm depending on god for the answer to my prayers. Rather than me pull every leaver i can every time i fast. It's a reminder of my own humanity and my own mortality,. Ands, there's also something going on here of idolatry. You have now made an idol out of other people like you. You've turned other people into god.
