Jesus' Death Is the Condemnation of This Present Evil Age

Jesus is killed by Israel. He's put to death by Rome. All of those things are true. And his death is sort of multivalent. It has a number of significances as the New Testament writers draw that out. The gospel writers portray this gatless three-hour darkness over the land, and what's happening there, the darkness lifts at Jesus' death.
