The Impact of Bird Strikes on Airport Safety
In the last 20 years, there have been approximately 210 aircraft destroyed because of collisions with birds. More than 200 people have died in bird strike related accidents since 1988. The US Airways flight 1549 was the passenger flight from LaGuardia on January 15, 2009. We're going to get into some of the procedures that airports have to mitigate these kinds of incidents.
