The Trauma of Leaving an Abusive Relationship

It was physically and it was very openly like there was no question about the emotional and mental abuse there. It got very bad towards the end. You're in an area you know if you don't have family and friends around you. What was the straw that broke the back?What made you decide yes I need to get out of here? To be honest it just got so bad that I had cops tell me that I was supposed to take my kids and leave otherwise I don't think I would have actually left this situation.
