The First Town Meeting in Alice Springs
3,000 people turned up at a public meeting in Alice Springs. There was talk of trying to get compensation from the Northern Territory government over damage done to businesses and properties. The architects of that meeting were small business owners who have been impacted by an increase in vandalism and property crime. "We're here to try and get compensation to rebuild our own town," said one attendee.
