Hover Flies Are Great for Gardening

Four billion hover flies turn up each year in the u.K. They are able to spread pollen around, so they're little conservators. Their larvae are what we call apidafagus - they eat aphids. One fly can consume between four and six 406 hundred aphids before it pupates.
