The earliest forms of agriculture as we know them were very simple. Small groups of hunter gatherers or pastoralists would plant seeds in one area and return to collect the crops a few months later. Agriculture was really only a supplement to other ways of feeding yourself. But slowly, as populations grew, these other sources of food were no longer enough,. creating pressures that made agriculture and coordination between large groups of people more portant.
