The Divided Self in the Age of Social Media
I think there's a renewed interest in this archetype because we all feel this identity crisis in the age of social media. The divided self can be stated as a denial of being as a means of preserving being. But what I find really interesting about old Hollywood stars and the way that they behave right like Vivian Lay or Marilyn Rose, is that they often like their private lives are often the public aspect.
