Is Teconomic Acceleration a Consumer Television?

In the absence of any constraints, positive feback loops are really better thought of as explosions. The adoption curve of consumer televisions to the energy curve of a nuclear bomb both are positive feeback loops. Perhaps teconomic acceleration would therefore be one candidate for the so called great pilter - why we don't observe any other advanced societies in the universe. Or perhaps economic acceleration can be mastered by humans and it can be channelled into a post scarcity kind of multiplanetary species that lives in comfort forever.
