James Harrison Is an Important Part of the Blood Program in Australia
In many countries, there is not enough information about rhesus disease. Scientists and doctors have tried to make anti-D in the laboratory without blood. But so far it has not worked. People still depend on blood donors. In Australia, there are only around 150 people able to give blood to making anti-D. About 17% of Australian women are at risk. So James Harrison has been an important part of the blood program there for 60 years.
