Is Epinephrine a Better Choice for Intubation?
Ketamine is often thought to be the ideal agent because we believe it'll boost the sympathetic drive, leading to improved blood pressure. Ketamine increases sympathetic tone by making the patient release more of their own catecholamines. Epinephrine may actually be a better choice since it's both an alpha and beta agonist. The bed-up head elevated position for intubation may reduce your intubation-related complications.
