The Northern Lights
i was there as part of the new scientist discovery tours that we run. i got to spend time on an island a just ferry ride away from tromso in the north of norway. There youare almost guaranteed to see the aurora, which we did. And also, it was just great to get into the forest on snow shoes and just track off into the silence. It turns out the gulf stream still goes up to those parts, so the porte tromso is always ice free.
