Is There a Universal Geno in Language?
When i was a student, 19 forties, the virtually universal assumption was languages can vary in every possible way. Is kind of a foundation of a philosophy of language linguistics and still pretty widely held. But as you study what appear to be radically diverse languages, seems that at a deeper level you do find uniformities. It's even becoming increasingly possible that the component of lang ich which basically creates thoughts, is closety uniform among humans.
