"We don't understand consciousness so i don't get why people think we will be able to simulate it like we're not close to understanding it," he says. "If the day that we create a plausible simulation is the day you know where where actual creatures are living out their lives that's the day'll also spec that we might be in a simulation which a god does exist" He adds: "In the end right we still don't know why we're here so like yeah you know what and plus if you believe that we're in a simulation this might be a simulation which a God does exist"
David and Tamler discuss famous 'split brain' experiments pioneered by Roger Sperry and Michael Gazzaniga. What happens when you cut off the main line of communication between the left and right hemispheres of our brain? Why under certain conditions do the the left and right brains seem like they have different abilities and desires? What does this tell us about the ‘self’? Do we have two consciousnesses, but only that can speak? Does the left brain bully the right brain? Are we all just a bundle of different consciousnesses with their own agendas? Plus, physicists may be able to determine whether we’re living in a computer simulation – but is it too dangerous to try to find out?
