Introduction

Roshana Abbasi is a Mellon postdoctoral fellow in the humanities at Stanford University. His dissertation was awarded the prestigious El Uwaleed bin Talal Prize for best dissertation in Islamic Studies. He seeks to bring the pre-modern Islamic intellectual and cultural heritage to bear on contemporary debates in religious studies and social theory. We're also going to be conversing with Dr. Omar Kureishi who is a scholar of educational philosophy, ethics, theology and Islamic law.
