The Socialism Issue
Economic Update with Richard D. Wolff

What Is Socialism?
China is a hybrid between those first two. It has a huge private capitalist sector regulated by a socialist government, sort of like western europe and scandinavia. But it has another sizable sector of its economy owned and run by the government that's a bit like the soviet union was. The crucial issue now is to put the working people in charge, transform these enterprises into what in america call worker coops. That can be done democratically. A real cialism would require it. And therefore this is a new kind of socialism.
