Jeremy Hunt's Fiscal Rule

Borrowing has come in significantly under what the OBR is expecting somewhere in the region of 30 to 40 billion pounds so this fiscal year and next fiscal year we think borrowing will be around that much lower. The Chancellor wants debt to be falling as a share of GDP in the final year of the forecast period which is 2027-28. He's going to use that near-term headroom and probably bank that money just and use it closest to the election.
