The Importance of Situation on Behaviour
My parents were middle class at best. But had sort of dreams of vaulting me and my sister into another kind of social world. It worked in the sense that i got a fantastic education at this school, because was one of only a few students who actually cared about the school work. So i've always had a real appreciation for the role of context and a situation in people's behaviour. And it's never made sense to me that we have some kind of fixed innate personality or intelligence. That was really so alien to me and so alienating. Iin an environment like that.
