When he was arrested, earle blake had a list of all the possible tools needed for murder. The police also found a rare german made gun in his apartment. At trial, both men would testify that robert blake met with them on multiple occasions and discussed various ways in which they could take bonny out. He explained to both men that he felt like she had trapped him into a marriage that he wanted a way out of.
