The Council of Kang's
The idea of this micro sub universe comes from Brian Michael Bendis's last story arc in the Avengers, where we fought the wasp had been killed. And then they have to do it too and pretty well. It's exactly as you say they've taken bits and pieces from different continuities and characters and melded them into one story. The events does the Council of Kang's ring a bell with another cartoon? I've never seen that I know of it. Yeah, yeah, it's a basically deconstructs all science fiction and comic book traps.
