The Culture of Politics Allows This to Happen
The case against Michael Flynn, for instance, was pretty trumped up and not very convincing in the end. But if you go across these things, one of the things that allows this stuff to remain in the kind of culture of politics is that the people that they're talking about suck so bad. There were a lot of terrible people who opposed the American intervention in World War I. That's the only war you know I am willing to even give you a pass if you're not too anti-Semitic because it's a World War II.
