The Fragilities of the Mortgage Finance System
There are really numerous weak parts in our mortgage finance system that we should be concerned about. Many of these institutions are extremely reliant on warehouse lines of credits from the positors that can get yanked or not getting extended. I think you and I both agree that there's some degree of moral hazard created, which results in perhaps greater leverage. The solution to having regulated depositories out of the mortgage market is not to regulate everybody else out of thegage market.
