This is the proverbial sort of butterfly effect where a butterfly in Brazil, popping its wings can cause a hurricane somewhere else. One of the ways that small changes to initial conditions can cause catastrophic loss or mortgage rates increasing if you're over levered on your house. A small change in interest rates can cause you to go back to zero. But it's a way that people don't necessarily think about problems.
