The Alpha Beta and the Host

Daughter human does not resemble the previous image haunting the host's delirious wanderings to the cave, flesh hanging from withering bones. The soft mate is here too, sitting beside daughter human and glancing up at the host through bloody eyes while emitting a repetitive melodic wheeze. It pauses before a door sucks in a lung full of air and enters a dim room, the light soft and comfortable, closer to my own dark home. Another human's clad in white snap to attention as the alpha predator stalks toward the daughter human, lying dormant. Its stirs, reaches a hand up and touches the host's appendage. Are we going home soon?
