Site Reliability Engineer - What Is It?
Site reliability engineer started to become kind of cool about 10 years ago now because Google popularized the term. When you have a very large distributed system, like a Google or an Amazon or even Twitter, it gets to the point where you want to start making more automated decisions. So that's sort of like when I was an SRE at New Relic, it was one of those kind of hybrid operations roles trying to be better.
